The United States celebrates a lot of things. We celebrate veterans, freedom, historical figures, holidays, and food. Did you know that the U.S. also celebrates grilled cheese? It's called National Grilled Cheese Day and in all 50 states, the iconic grilled cheese sandwich is altered with a personal flavorful twist.
PROCESS
I always start with a few sketches and a storyboard if need be. I feel that sketching brings out my creativity in a better way and it brings out my ideas faster.
IDEA #1: The first storyboard of the first set of sketches was of how I imagined the video to be. I had a lot of fun with the development process because it consisted two of my favorite things - drawing and food.
IDEA #2: After several critique sessions with my professor and peers, I re-created a second storyboard full of sketches with only minor changes and suggestions on how to complete the entire video deliverable.
However, as I got into the thick of creating the video in After Effects, I swapped some ideas from the original storyboard. These changes you can compare into the actual video itself.
